My goodness...yesterday was crazy. I'm not sure I'm liking this new g.p. I've switched too. I made an appt to see her since she never returned the three messages I left about my thyroid meds. So, I got an appt at 4pm...they somehow put me in. I wait an hour before the dr sees me. She changes my meds and we make a follow up appt for three months and I need another blood test in six weeks. She mentioned that I don't need to see her when I get the next blood test done. I ask how do I get in touch with her? She answers "Call the triage nurses". I answered "I did, no response from you so that is why I made this appt." Dr says nothing. I guess I got what I needed done but not without waiting and much ado which is the story of my life right now.
Speaking of waiting.....here's to more waiting. I had my ultrasound this am to find out if I could start round #2 of the injections. NOPE. Cysts on both ovaries. Wait another month. Criminey! BTW...this is a very common side effect. So, we can still get the meds since they are ordered and store them in the fridge for the next cycle. In reality this is probably a blessing since my thyroid is sort of "messed up". So, now I can relax and get the thyroid back to normal (Lord willing) and try again next cycle. I've read a lot about how the thyroid really messes with hormones. Just for your info...the normal range on the Free T3 is 1.8 - 4.2 pg/ml and my number was 5.99! That looked too high so the dr lowered my dosage to one pill instead of two. The T4 normal range is .9- 1.8 pg/ml and my number was .6. Not too bad so the dr raised my dosage to 2 pills every morning instead of 1. No wonder I was having dizzy spells. Things happen for a reason and I just have to believe this is all part of God's plan. I'm going to take this month and super clean my house and try to get exercising, keep praying and pray some more. I also need to get my stuff organized before school starts. I'm taking 2 classes in the fall...so I will be loaded with work. TTC will be difficult. I'm going to leave that in the Lord's hands.
Thanks again for the words of encouragement. As disappointing as we all know IF can be and is...it's nice to have others who can relate and share with me their own journeys. Well...time to keep my chin up and keeping moving along. God Bless you all.
what a bummer about your new dr and the thyroid issue - she sounded like she was really in tune with you and open.. maybe she was just having an off day?
ReplyDeletei hate to hear you had the cysts too (but i must honestly say a little relieved to hear i wasn't the only one). i will pray they shrink soon so you can get started again with everything in check. i hope you can kind of enjoy the little break, even if it's forced.
Wow, that's a lot of ups and downs with the medical stuff. Good for you pointing out to the doctor that she's uncommunicative! Why do they DO that? Maybe this next time she'll actually respond.
ReplyDeleteGood job for keeping your chin up! I will lift you up in prayer bc I know how hard it is to wait!
ReplyDeletebtw... i sent you an email
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that you had issues getting in touch with your doctor, but I hope that your medication got adjusted and hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. Forced breaks are frustrating, but I hope it gives you some time to relax and just spend time with your husband. I'll keep you in my prayers.
