Gosh...this morning the vet called me early to give me the blood work result for my cat...I will talk about that later...I had a horrible migraine this morning. I told my dh that I needed coffee and A.leve. I quickly made some toast too. I ate the toast, took the pill, drank just a few sips of coffee before I had to just lay down....my dh left the house and that is when it began. I started to throw up even though my stomach didn't feel too neauseated. I threw up for about an hour or so until I felt better. I threw in some laundry and vegged on the couch with 7 up after that episode. After a nap, I was able to eat crackers...and I felt a lot better. I wondered if it was something I ate at the grad party I went to last night. That food was all catered and my dh had the some thing and he feels fine today. It's too soon for morning sickness.....I usually nip migraines by coffee and Al.eve and no vomiting. I don't know but I feel better now...so..I'll be thankful for that. If I had a stomach virus I wouldn't be able to eat today and I've eaten dinner and now feel fine. Hmmmm...must have just been a bout of something.
To the vet call...my cat has some cat disease that is contagious to cats only. Not sure of the name for I wasn't too much in the mood to talk this morning. The vet said this disease would make my cat very sick and he wouldn't live through the illness however being that he's healthy right now...no cause to be alarmed and the vet said he didn't truly trust the blood results...will probably test for this again later. The cat is going to get stero.id shots for a few months to see if that helps his tummy...if it does then we can opt for other meds. The cost of monthly shots, and his food would be getting pricey. We love him and if we have no choice we'll do it...but it could be for his lifetime. Yikes..oh well...we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I will have to find out more about that disease. hmmm.....maybe on Mon. This cat is like our child...I cried some this morning just thinking that he'll get sick and die. In reality...none of us know when our time will come. With that...we are going to enjoy and love our kitty for as long as we have him.
I'm sorry to hear that your cat is sick and I'm sorry that you were too this morning. Thank you for all your prayers and encouragement. I'm sorry it took me so long to get over here. Reading through your post-op post, it sounds like we had some of the same stuff going on. I'll get a post-op post up soon. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better from the surgery and hope that surgery + injectables do it for you!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about kitty :(. Hope all of you feel better!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your poor, little cat. Could it be Feline Leukemia? That's a big one that's infectious to other cats. But getting sick from it isn't necessarily an instant death sentence. I've had several cats diagnosed with it over the years. Two fought it off and are now free of it; two died. Cats can also become latent carriers. They carry the virus but aren't actively sick. These cats can live for years, but the virus may become active later in their lives. Sorry, I read up on this disease when my little Harry and Felix picked it up. My MIL lost an entire litter of kittens and our current cat's sister to it. Our current cat is one of the ones who fought it off. Sorry, I'm rambling. Just trying to say that if it's FeLV, there's hope.
