One ring lost

I'm so heartbroken. When I was 18, my aunt who lived in Ireland sent me my first Cladaugh (?)ring...it was beautiful and until today...I wore it a lot (21 years). I was outside raking leaves and enjoying a nice fall day and apparently when I took my gloves off, the ring came off too and I can't find it. Mind you, I took the gloves off a few times while I was outside. The saddest part? My aunt passed away about three years ago now. This ring always reminded me of my aunt and to pray for her soul. My mom was very close to her sister. I told her because I thought my dad had a medal detect.or...which he does but it's at my brother's house who we won't see most likely until Thanks.giving...and heck there may be snow by then. My mom wasn't too upset...she said "That kind of stuff happens and thank goodness it wasn't your wedding/engagement ring." I'm completely bummed. I just want to search and search...

On a lighter note, my dh and I went to an appreciation dinner for St. Vincen.t De.Paul where he volunteers at their thrif.t stor.e and we had the privilege of eating dinner with three sisters! I can't recall a time I've eaten dinner with nuns. It was enjoyable and when they asked us if we had children. we answered "No" and then they said "Not yet huh?" and I answered "That's not in God's plan for us." They laughed and agreed that it's all about His will. IF anyone would understand my answer...I knew they would. God Bless.

  1. Oh no! Just to offer some hope: DH lost his wedding ring raking leaves 2 years ago and managed to find it the next day. He couldn't quit looking. I lost my engagement ring cleaning my apartment when we were engaged. It was lost for over a week and I was convinced it was down a drain, but I did find it. And Lastly, said engagement ring came off while cleaning and was sucked up in the vacuum cleaner. It came out a little wonky, but still fine. Good luck!

  2. Oh no! What about a metal detector? Could you rent one? How big is the area that you were raking?

  3. Sorry about your ring. I hope it shows up soon. I'm glad that your dinner companions were understanding.
