A few things and our own Hallow.een Traditio.n

First of all, I am better. Actually, that chest cold lasted only a few days...goes to show you what rest can do. Thanks to those of you who commented on that post! My dh enjoyed working with my RE class so much he's going to do it for me next year (since I will be student teaching full time next fall (Lord Willing) and will be stressing out over that). He told me that they recited the Ac.t of Contrit.ion on their own...no prompts! Woo hoo. My goal this year for them is to learn their prayers and learn how to pray the Rosa.ry. This Sunday I'm having a guest come in to teach the children how to make their own Ros.ary. She does this a lot for the private school children so I asked her to come to my class which she was more than happy to oblige.

I don't know what the rest of you do on the big Hallow.een day...but my parents, my dh and I go to church for All. Sain.ts Da.y (or in this case it will satisfy our Sunday mass obligation)..and after mass we go out to eat. We don't give out candy. I know that sounds bad but in our neighborhood...there's at least 300 hundred children that come to our door. That is insane and expensive. So, about four years ago...my dh and I decided not to partake in that anymore and we found going to mass and out to eat to be our own way of celebrating the day and making it holy. If we had children of course we would do the tric.k or treat.ing thing..but we don't. That is a holiday for the fertile....which I'm not. So...we do our own thing. That's okay.

So anyway,,,five more weeks of classes to go this semester. Last night I drove home in torrential rain...it was horrible...and I was thankful to make it home. When my dh got home I gave him a big hug. I took the expressways and tollways home thinking that would be better and safer than the backroads...however whenever a truck went by..it would blow my car around and make it so I couldn't see. The professor let us out of class late too...which really dampened my mood. I made it home just after 10pm. Oh well...I made it home.

Oh...one last thing...my dh expressed that he'd like me to continue charting (I skipped this month due to procrastinating). We might be TTA for awhile since next fall I'll be student teaching and we both want me to be done with that and to not prolong getting certified. However I ask "what are we avoiding?" Pregnancy? Haa...Do we really have to do that? I don't get it.

  1. It's always amusing to be TTA as an IFer. Your Halloween (or really All Hallows Eve) tradition sounds great.
