Not like I really thought we wouldn't be...but we got an email from the agency today that they have accepted us into their program. Now the real work begins. We had an interview with one of the directors last Monday and it went well. It was very informative and we just love that they really work hard to advocate for us (which is what we are paying them to do). Now I have to gather pictures and start the home study paperwork. Since I'm still pretty much part time right now...I have the time to complete that kind of stuff. I'm excited and so is my dh. We are going to do what we can to make this adoption journey successful.
We do feel God working in this too....because...my dh got offered a part time job! He's going to teach online community college classes. They want him to start now but he's not sure he's ready to commit so he will most likely start in Jan. He can do this job from home which will be helpful when our little one arrives. God knows we have been praying about how we are going fund our adoption and He has answered this prayer. I'll be picking up some more clients soon as well. As of right now...we want me to keep part time so we won't have to put our little one in daycare as much. I like my job and I think it's very doable with parenting full time. That's our plan for now.
By the way, no one in our family is aware that we have begun another adoption journey...not even my parents (my dh is in shock I haven't said anything..I do tell my mom a lot.). We don't know where this will lead us but we just don't want to talk about it until we get our baby and then we hope we can surprise everyone. None of my family or IRL friends read my blog. Now, we'll have to find someone to look in on our cats if/when we travel to get our child. My parents usually do that for us. hmmmm...
Question...what are your thoughts or experiences with flying with a newborn? Since we may have to travel we may have to go by plane. I am such a nervous reck on a plane...oh dear, I just can't imagine the stress. I'll see if my dr can give me something to relax me. haahaha...
St.Anne ....pray for us!
this is so exciting! Prayers continue!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!! One step closer!! :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Prayers as you continue down this road!
ReplyDeletePrayers for you! Oh Happiness!
ReplyDeleteHey, congrats! And delighted to hear about your DH's job opportunity. Love the sound of that flexibility. I am also fascinated by what made you decide to do a "surprise" adoption. Obviously this is not my area, so I never thought about how I would share the news with family, but I have to say, you're going for the drama points!
ReplyDeleteWe just want to do this together without others input...positive or negative. Sometimes family members mean well. Our families know we've been through so much ..as far as they are concerned, we are done trying to have children.
