I have some good news! Over the weekend...my dh got installed as a new District Deputy for the Knights of Columbus! I am just so proud of him and I actually got a gift for being the wife of a district deputy (other wives at the dd mtg and banquet welcomed me). I can not express how much his involvement in this worthy organization has helped him and us! Yes, he wears regalia for certain events ( I call him the grand poobaa). God has called him to this. When he was the grand knight of our parish council, he did so much. He got members, he organized events, God helped him to turn it around so much..men want to join!! When his 2 year term was up (and he was asked to be DD)...other members were afraid no one could replace him. Some one finally did stand up who will be just as good (and my dh will help the new grand knight). The mass and ceremony were special and I just felt so blessed about being married to this man and will support him in every way that I can. He'll be busy. He's a great leader and I am in awe. How many of you have dh's that are Knights? Just curious. If not, get them aboard! This organization is the strong hold of the church.
One of the other dd's at the banquet talked to me about starting a Ladies Auxiliary..I've never started anything. I'm praying about it. I may join one this year to get a feel for the group and learn more about it before I take the plunge and take that big undertaking. God is good...He will help me like He helped and led my dh. Any of you part of a ladies auxiliary???
I haven't posted any kitty pics lately so I just had to post this one. Jojo is just a relaxing kind of dude. He makes us laugh every day...so playful and just a great cat. He also likes kids. When my two nephews came to visit last month, he played with them and let them drag him around. He did not care. Missy, on the other hand, kept a good distance and shook like a leaf. She's MY cat. Loves me and no one else (won't go near my dh..it's funny). I took both kitties to the vet today and they both got a clean bill of health. They do help me get through some hard moments.
It was nice to celebrate something else this past weekend and take my mind off of this cycle. I did get a bought of diarrhea on Sunday morning so it was an interesting ride home and I'm good about taking the probiotic!!! The DD mass, ceremony and banquet were out of town. Actually, as soon as we started heading home..I really thought I was going to barf. I took mints which helped and cried to my dh that I need to be done. It was the antibiotic. I knew it. He convinced to me to keep taking it. He's okay with me not taking the clomid again. I had a constant headache all weekend too...but I wasn't going to let that stop me from being so happy for my dh. Still at a crossroad about what my next steps will be. For now, I just want to get through this cycle. Ugh!
Well, I'm almost done with all of my online courses. I need to send in my paperwork so I can get credentialed to be a dev. therapist!!! I am so looking forward to this new career.
St. Anne..pray for us!

Congrats to S! That is such an honor and great accomplishment. My husband is involved in the Knights as well, but more from a volunteer standpoint at various events. He hasn't attended the meetings lately, but I will show him this post! Oh, and sorry for the crazy stomach issues...boo hoo! But yeah for almost being credentialed as a development therapist!
ReplyDeleteThanks M. The nice thing about being a Knight is you can give time when you can. Not all of the men in my dh's council are as involved as my dh....and that is okay. My dh can give the time. He loves it.
DeleteYeah, I think stomach issues and meds just go hand in hand for me. It's par for the course I guess.
Congrats to your dh!
ReplyDeleteYou absolutely need to finish antibiotics. They're a pain, but you don't want to kill all the good stuff and have bad stuff left that then might require stronger meds. But it's no fun!
You are absolutely right...but it is hard to think about taking another pill when one's stomach is feeling lousy. It's okay..I do feel better today. I should be able to get through the next 7 days since I will pretty much be hanging out at home.
DeleteCongrats to your DH! And I love Jo Jo :) - cats are hilarious when they are intent on chillin'
