Cling to Jesus

as you carry your cross.  These words came to me last Sunday during mass.  I was reflecting a lot on the IF cross I carry (and talked about here).  I was praying and praying...just thanking God for the many gifts and being sorrowful for allowing the IF cross to be so heavy and He said "Cling to me as you carry your cross." I was like "Wow". Do I cling to Jesus?  I should.  After all, He is the source of all my strength.  So, I'm going to work on that from now on...Jesus...I cling to you as I continue to carry my cross.

This is an amazing little story...but one of my biggest worries about switching jobs has a lot to do with money.  I'll be honest.  Last Sunday while thinking about clinging to Jesus I prayed about this decision and my concerns about the financial situation.  There is going to be a period of time (not sure how long) where I won't be collecting a paycheck. Yikes!  Short term pain...long term gain.  Once I start seeing clients (babies!!!), I'll be getting paid.  Money is the one factor that's been really weighing me down in just making a decision and sticking to it. Honestly, I have a paying job now and I'm going to leave it to not be paid for an uncertain amount of time?  What am I thinking???  I digress...

Well....the other day my mother told me that she finally sold my aunt's estate (God rest her soul) and she decided to share the money with my aunt's nieces and nephews.  My mom handed me an envelope.  I won't divulge dollar amounts but it is suffice to say....I can start my business...and not be worried about the money(for awhile).  I was literally in tears.  God has come through for me again and answered this prayer!  I was not expecting this.  It was like God was saying "PJ, go in peace and continue doing the Lord's work and I will take care of the rest." Amazed.  I do trust that HE will send clients my way too.  God is good. I will continue to be a good and faithful servant for the Lord.  Amen?

So, "Jesus, I will cling to you as I carry my cross."

St.Anne...pray for us!

Besides garage sales...any suggestions on where I can find good used baby toys (birth - 3 years)?

  3. Love this story! God is a God of surprises! You could come to DeKalb and shop at Kidstuff (I think they have a website) and then come over for tea ;)

  4. So awesome!!! Try Craigslist for used baby toys and such - also, if you have a good relationship with other early-childhood teachers, you can ask them to ask the parents of their children to donate old baby toys.

Prayers for you as you continue this new adventure!

    1. I probably can tell a few of my fellow early childhood teachers what I'm up to and since their kids are no longer babies...maybe they'll have toys to donate/sell to me...good idea Rebecca.
