Today is our anniversary! Eight years, where did the time go?? It was May 11, 2002, my husband and I vowed in front of God, family and friends that we are going to be married until death. I can't think of a happier day in my life! God has blessed us with so much. It was pouring rain this am when we got up for work and my dh said "Doesn't this remind you of our wedding day?" It's funny but on our wedding day..the only place I got rained on was from INSIDE the church during the ceremony! Ugh! They had redone the roof and it leaked that day...right on my dress! Kinda funny, huh? I know back then...that rain was a blessing. My sweet pea is working late tonight so we are not doing anything to celebrate tonight ( well, unless he has some energy.) . OH well......it's a sacrifice and we are so thankful for our jobs and for each other. Praise God!
Also, my advisor emailed me and they are NOT going to cancel that class this summer! That was such a relief. Whew. So the plan continues as is...studen.t teachi.ng in the fall. I'm good with that.
This may shock some but may not shock others...but yesterday I was subbing in a pre.school room and a three year old child flash.ed me a gan.g sig.n!!! Oh dear Lord I thought and told that child sternly "we don't do that in school" or anywhere else for that matter. I really don't know these things but I recognized it when I saw it...and when his father came to get him...I understood it all....need I say more?
God bless you all and know that I am praying for you!
Congratulations on your 8 year anniversary! I'm so glad to hear that your class didn't get cancel and you can continue with your plan to student teach in the fall.
ReplyDeleteThee years old? That is awful! My hubby is on the gang task force for our local sheriff's department. There are gangs everywhere and it is so sad. You are in a great position to educate these kids to help keep them out of the gang lifestyle. Education is a huge key especially when there is not a positive influence at home. Stay strong in your conviction and the children will see it!
ReplyDeleteI am happy your class wasn't cancelled afterall. And happy anniversary. That is sad about the little girl!
ReplyDeletecongratulations!!!! i was waiting to hear about your class, glad you can go on and keep up your schedule.
ReplyDelete3 years old and gang signs? yikes.
Congratulations! You have a wonderful marriage... so blessed!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your anniversary! :)
ReplyDeleteThat porr little child, it is so sad to see these innocent children being subjected to all this violence in there lives.
Congratulations on your anniversary! I liked the story about getting rained on in church... kind of like an extra blessing from above! So glad to hear that you can continue with your classes as you had hoped.
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary to you guys! 8 years is pretty long in our society:) I hope there are many ymore years to come and filled with little ones!
ReplyDeleteHappy belated Anniversary!! (I just realized that I need to update your blog address on my sidebar... oops.)
ReplyDeleteWanted to thank you for your comment, too. Please don't lose all hope that you will be a mother. As I've often said before, I know of NO ONE who is approved to adopt and went to their grave having never been matched and placed with a child. NO ONE. As long as you have that golden ticket, you have the ability to get a phone call any time.
I know that doesn't make the wait any easier. I get that. But you are a natural mother, and I have no doubt that you will be a physical mother in your future (hopefully not too long in the future).
Thanks everyone for the Anniversary well wishes. I guess in this society eight years is commendable. ha!
ReplyDeleteTCIE: I know my dh and I will have to switch agencies to get a placement. We'll look into that next year. CC out by us are not doing a thing. Nothing! Well, they are maintaining our license. But that's about it.
Somehow, someway: Thanks for reminding me that I can make a difference in a child's life and hopefully make a child confident enough to know better than to join the gan.g lifestyle. I'm going to have a lot of responsibilities as a teacher...I'm going to try to make a good influence on my students. That is one of my prayers.
Happy anniversary! Rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck! it rained on mine, and life has been perfect since! :)
