Why I love my dh (top 11).

I've been really enjoying reading about your hubbies...so I thought I would share the eleven things I love about mine:

1. He loves God and our faith. I can't tell you how much he's helped me in becoming a better Catholic and lover of God. He's definitely helping me get to heaven. This attribute has made him a good and honest man.

2. He's a devoted husband. I am in awe with how much he loves me and our life together. I can't thank God enough. My hubby has taken our vows seriously..and is in this marriage until death.

3. Hard worker. Now, he's a devoted and hard worker at his job as a speci.al educ.ation teacher. At home, it's tough for him to want to do any housework. I guess that is my job for now. He's humbly admitted that housework and doing things like that around the house is something he'd rather not do. I appreciate his honesty and will continue to manage the household chores until I work full time myself. We'll discuss our options when I get a full time job. He has told me numerous times that he appreciates the work I do around the house.

4. Loves his family. He really does care deeply for his family...especially his father. He's always loved his father even though his father did not always make good choices for him. My dh's mother died when he was 14. His father chose not to be home or do what was best for his son. I feel his father threw my dh "out in the ocean" and my dh decided to swim. I know that what his father did made my dh the man he is today. I think his mother has been his guardian angel too. My dh would not be a devout Catholic if it wasn't for his mother's guidance(alive and from heaven). His father is agnosti.c. He has been verbal about his disapproval of the Catholi.c Church. My dh still loves his dad and I try my best (albeit hard) to "love" his father too. This is hard for I grew up with very loving parents. Parents who gave me direction and supported everything I have done and do now. Parents who gave me the foundation to build my own Catholic faith upon. In reality, my parents were quite the opposite of his father. Anywho....

5. Awesome with the household budget. My dh loves to budget. He is very organized with our money and I couldn't be more thankful for his hard work in maintaining our finances. That is his bag.

6. Eats my cooking and loves it. Even if it's something that is not good. I know I've made tuna casserole too many times...but he eats it anyway. I'm not a bad cook by all means...but whatever I make...he's eats it and compliments it. There's no pressure to make things I won't eat either like fish. He does like fresh fish but I can't stand it. So he settles for fish sticks. Ha! He asked me to make a shepherd.s pie..I made it but could not eat it myself..he knew then and never complained about never having that dish at home again. He can have his fresh fish and shep pie at restaurants.

7. He's not nor has he ever been conceited or proudful. He doesn't spend a lot of money on himself. He's an excellent teacher (other's have told me) but he never says that about himself. I don't how he would describe himself actually. He's very humble and that is attractive to me.

8. He loves a good nap. Pretty much everyday if time allows...he naps. I nap too and so does out cat. So, we are one happy napping family! hehehehe.....

9. He loves to travel. I know he loves to travel however since I get motion sickness...it's hard for me. He understands and accepts that so most of our trips are car trips. When I finish with school and for my 40th bday... we are planning a more extensive trip. We are thinking AZ to visit my brother and his family. We would have to fly so I'm going to have to get some meds to enjoy that trip. I do want to go...so that is just something I'll have to do. He never complains about the sacrifices he makes for me and us.

10. So supportive of me! I wouldn't be in grad school if it wasn't for my dh. This part brings tears to my eyes. He never complains about how much school costs us or about the sacrifices we are making so I can be a teacher. He never complains about not having children. He knows we are on this journey together and we support each other in any way we can. He supports me being a sub and never complains when I'm not working or not bringing in any money. He supports me in so many ways. I love him more everyday and I can't thank our good Lord enough. We have been blessed with a good marriage and I've been blessed with a great supportive husband.

11....I just had to add one more...he's cute. He would never say this about himself...I just love telling him.

So there it is girls...my top eleven reasons I love my dh! Thanks to Ann for reminding me and the rest of us why we love our hubbies! God bless.

  1. Thanks for sharing. Being a sped teacher says a lot about him, not a lot of men in that field (my master's is in sped). Just a few things in common worth noting: My dh's dad died when he was 12, and he def chose to swim. I appreciate all it did in shaping his character. Isn't it nice to have a man that is easy to cook for? No pressure! My dh is happy on frozen burritos or popcorn for dinner-lol. I love a good nap, and introduced dh to the art of napping-we love to nap together!
By the way, I was introduced to "sea bands" while pregnant. They are for motion sickness and CVS sells them. I hope you find something that helps so you can enjoy the trip.
It sounds like you have a very wonderful marriage! Thanks again for sharing!

  2. I love it! I love how supportive he is of you. My husband will do anything around the house as long as I am directing and really, I’d rather just do it myself than to tell someone exactly what to do. Dusting is a foreign concept to him, but then again, this is a man who believes in clirty.

For #11 – I’ve seen pictures and he is handsome and you two are an adorable couple.
