for the coming of our Lord this Advent Season. That was the topic of our Marriage Community meeting last night (we joined this group after our Marr.iage Encount.er weekend in 2006). It was a great talk and discussion....and we acknowledged that we prepare ourselves individually but what about preparing AS A COUPLE???? So, my dh and I are now going to spend the rest of this season preparing together. We'll say prayers around our Advent Wreath and a few other prayerful things we discussed. I just love when we get together with other Catholics and we can help each other get closer to our Lord. After our sharing, etc...it was time to eat. Gosh... I really need to pray for more self-control.
For those of you interested...I posted some Thanks.giving pictures on my other blog.
One more week of classes...and then I'm done. I pray we don't get the predicted snow storms. Yikes! I have to go to the Thursday night class....like it or not...I have to do a presentation! So, I'm praying Thursday is clear for driving. Tuesday's class...I can skip. I'm done with all the work in that one.
I had confession yesterday with my 3rd grade R.E. class and each child had to bring a gift for a child that may not get one this Christmas. We wrapped the gifts after we did the confession. Two of my children amazed me completely! One child brought a hat and gloves set and another child brought a warm blanket. They thought these things were more useful to a poor child then a toy. I was completely speechless (even I brought a toy). So, next year...I may encourage this. I feel so blessed to be able to work with such thoughtful children. They really are sweet. :)
I pray everyone is having a blessed Advent Season preparing for the birth of our Dear Jesus!
Kids can be truly amazing sometimes. They're more astute that we give them credit for. Good for them!
