Appt w/surgeon and prayers needed!

Yesterday I had the appt with Dr. S (Sta.l.ling).  She is in Peor.ia, IL which is about 3 hours away from my home.  It went really well.  I am so thankful for that.  As most of you know, when you visit with dr's a lot can be said...well... a lot was said in my case.

1. THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!  Dr. S. is going to TRY to get my surgery done the week of Aug 13th!  Can you freaking believe that?  PLEASE PRAY!!!  That would be before I go back to work!  I would have about a week or so to heal before the kids come back.  It's not a lot of time but it's better than trying to schedule during the school year.   My dh was in shock...and is so hoping this will happen. I'll find out for sure on Mon or Tues. This is one prayer I would love to be answered...if of course...it's the Lord's will.  I get that.  I sooooooo want to get my hopes up...so bad.

2. If you read above...surgery is recommended. Gulp.  She left that up to me.  That was not a hard choice to make.
3. She was not concerned about my cysts...and is not definitive that I have PCOS. WHAT?  I almost fell off of the table (I just sat on that..no examinations done).  I seemed to get the impression that other things are causing my pain...not the little cysts. Really.
4. She's thinking I may have a chronic infection.  That will cause pelvic adhesions and lots of pain.  Okay...she'll check for that during surgery....if I have it...I'll have to take antibiotics.
5. She's having my reg. dr call in a prescrip for HC.G.  She thinks that will be a better fit for me than progesterone...since as we all know...I'm allergic to prog in oil.  I took HC.G before...I don't remember any reactions.  I may have to go back and read old blog posts from the last time I took it to see how it made me feel. hmmm.....
6. She recommended I try the anti-inflam.matory diet/endo diet.  She gave me a handout which listed foods I don't eat. Hmmmm...I'll definitely start by eating more fruits and veggies.
7.  She mentioned that I have good mucus cycles.  Really?  She said my cycles look pretty good.  Really?
8.  She didn't really think I had other serious issues going on besides endo and maybe the infection.  I'll take that as good news.

A few other notes...we had a good talk about my cycles and pain.  I never really thought about it but for about ten days or more...my life is controlled by my cycle.  I take lots of pain meds, I eat different foods...I don't exercise...I just am a slave to the cycle. Lord willing...soon...that won't be the case. In the end...I feel so blessed to now be in the care of a dr that can help me be a healthier woman.  I'm so blessed to have a dh who cares and will be there for me.  He was quite happy with dr S. and feels good about my future treatments.

One last note...she did of course ask if we were TTC'ing...which of course...I said "not really".  We are not avoiding but not actively trying.  My dh noticed that she wrote the word "indifferent" on her sheet.  He found that interesting yet I couldn't think of a better word to describe us.  By all means, if we get blessed with a child..we would be ecstatic.  If not, that is okay too.  As I said to the dr..."That is in the Lord's hands." With that I bid Ado...and I will update when I find out about a surgery date!!

  2. I think I've met her...did she do a fellowship at PPVI? I think she helped with one of my (many) surgeries. If she'd the same doc, she is great! If not, she still sounds great! That is terrific about your surgery scheduling! I'll be praying for you!

  6. Fantastic news!!!!! I wouldn't be surprised if it was adhesions causing your pain. I had horrible pain before my surgeries in Omaha and I had a TON of adhesions (from a nasty pelvic abscess). With this last visit of AF I took three pain meds for the entire duration. Three. And they were all regular strength! This surgery is totally going tot bring your quality of life back!

    Praying for you!!!!!
