Summer Quick Takes

After an arduous year, I am so thankful that I can say I can put teaching behind me now and move on to my new career and Lord Willing...less stressful life!  So what's the first thing we did after school was done?  We went on a vacation/road trip!!!  Woo Hoo...summer is here!

First stop was in Michigan and we visited the place where my family used to own a summer home.  Gosh..I got a rush of some fun memories...things I would never tell my mother about. :)  When I brought girl friends up there, we were dangerous. We would always meet some cute boys to hang out with.  Haha..it was all good and pretty innocent.  Cute little story...when I was 13, I met a guy up there who was my brother's age.  I had a huge crush on him.  I was bold and just went up to him and started talking to him.  I ended up introducing him to my brother and guess what?  They became instant friends and are still friends even up to today.  "S" actually came to my parent's house a few years back to visit.  It's funny how people meet, huh?

After MI, we drove up to Burlington, Ontario, Canada to visit my family.  We had a great time.  We just stayed a few days before we drove through the mountains of NY and Mass. to get to New Haven, CT.    I never realized how beautiful these states are.  Wow.  We visited a few stops and then we headed through NJ and PA to get to Cleveland, OH to see a shrine.  However, I got really sick so we cancelled seeing the shrine and drove back home.  Even though I got sick, it was an awesome trip and we had a wonderful time.  I'm so thrilled that we got to visit some states we've never been too before and see new sights and locations.

I do love to travel...but really...there's no place like home and no bed like my own.  Just saying.

Since I planned ahead and froze a lasagna for dinner, after our trip, we were able to have my parents and my dh's father over for a father's day feast.  It went well and now I'm working on my trainings and of course, relaxing.  I don't feel any stress!  Love it!  I feel so much better...like a huge weight has just been lifted off of my shoulders.

On to cycle news...that LDN is doing it's job.  I feel so much better and I'm sleeping like a champ, more energy..all that it was promised. Need I mention my steller hormones?   Next to do on the list, is go on the 2 week antibiotic again and next cycle, try clomid...again.  Hot flashes....I am ready...bring it on. Geesh.  Oh Lord...

Since my dh and I had so much wonderful time together...we talked a lot and prayed about foster care.  It's looking like we might take that leap of faith.  It really depends on my new career and how that goes. More on that later.

    1. My dh is really into the Knights of Columbus so he wanted to go visit the Knights Museum in New Haven and we also went to the church were the founder has been laid to rest. Very interesting.

BTW: My dh is a current grand knight and in a few weeks he will be district deputy. This definitely his calling and he does a wonderful job at it as well.
