Cycle Review and a test result

Well...I had my first cycle review a few days ago and it looks like the HCG did help my hormones...progesterone was a 13(I believe) which I guess is in a good range...my estrodial was a little low but the dr wants to see what happens with that with future cycles.  Everything else looked good.

The bad part of the conversation today is that I do have an infection.  The test results came in from my surgery.  I guess it's the kind my dh and I pass back and forth to each other so both of us will be on a 21 day regimen of antibiotics.  The dr recommended we both take a probiotic with that...to prevent diarrhea, etc.  Any experiences on that on how that all went?  I know some other bloggers have had to do that too.  My dh was not happy about this but if it makes us feel better...than it's a good thing. Right?  I really don't do well on antibiotics...so I'm hoping it goes good with working and all.

When my cycle did start (I wasn't surprised), I got the worse cramps and diarrhea.  I knew I had eaten junk that day but I had no idea doing that would cause the pain.  Looks like HCG can cause that but it should get better.  Dr highly recommends I watch the diet.  Sigh.  So hard when one is working and has no energy to cook.  Some days I just crave comfort foods.  I need to exercise too...which has not been happening a whole lot either. +Sigh+

Besides that, my dh and I are doing well.  So so busy.  We did get out of town for an overnight last weekend which was so relaxing.  I needed to get away. Teachers do work hard and many hours.  It's what God wants me to do.  So I make sacrifices...and work hard to be happy about it. :)

St. Anne pray for us!

  1. I am still waiting to hear back from my first cycle review - I didn't realize HCG can cause pain...good to know for the coming days.

Bummer that you have an infection - The Man and I are currently also taking antibiotics for infection that we pass back and forth. Not fun :(.

I hear you on working and energy/time to cook - I insisted that we get a white board from Target that has 7 days on it, I write our schedules and our meals for each night we are both home - if one of us isn't home, it's leftovers or whatever for the other. It's only been 3 weeks, but it has made a HUGE difference. Monday for example, I was exhausted - if the white board hadn't said "burgers" I would have completely coped out of making dinner instead of getting things going. We ended up having a late dinner of burgers and fresh-cut shoestring fries (pan fried in oil) that was great - and way better than the cereal I would've eaten.

  2. The antibiotics are tough, but so worth it!!!!

I remember my first few cycles post-op were brutal, but now I'm barely taking one pill for pain (and it isn't extra strength).

    Continued prayers!

  3. Thanks for the advice and prayers. JB: Good to know that I may just still be healing.

  4. Email me about abx and infection anytime! Take probiotics at a different time than the abx. I am sorry you have trouble with them. CD 1-10 abx should follow the 21 days though. This is good, now you know and can do something about it!
