Decisions and sickness

First things first, we've decided to go to Omaha...and our letter of referral went to Dr. H.  All of my recent records and surgery notes went to him also.  I guess we'll know what he recommends in about six weeks.  I don't know but I'm not too thrilled that I am facing another surgery.  We also have to call our ins. co. to see how much we'll have to pay.  I believe 50% will come out of our pockets.  Eeek!  I'm thankful that I'm working full time now to help pay for this.  Still hoping we can do this surgery this summer.

Secondly, one of the fringe benefits of working with children is that they come to work sick.  Literally.  So, now I'm sick with a cold and yesterday I was down with the stomach bug.  Ugh!  I feel somewhat better today.  I'm just nursing tea and toast.  The cold is driving me nuts.  I can't stop blowing my nose!  I know it could be a lot worse so I'll stop complaining now.

Thirdly, this is completely sad.  Yesterday when I went into work (before I got sick) I found out that the the 4 year old grandson of the director of the center where I work had passed away.  I guess he had his tonsils out and when he was resting at home, he woke up not being able to breathe.  His mom had to run to a neighbor's house to call for help and when they got back he was limp and passed shortly after.  What?  He attended a preschool where I did my student teaching so I know his teacher...I guess she's a complete "mess".  I didn't know this child.  If you could keep his family in your prayers, that would be wonderful.  I couldn't imagine what his mother is going through...he was her only child.

St.Anne...pray for us!

  1. I am praying that you go through the process at PPVI quickly! My paperwork was received in April and I had surgery in November (I could've had it done in September, but it wasn't convenient since I wanted to start the school year with my class).

I am so sorry to hear about that little boy's passing. How sad for his family!

  4. So sad about the child!
On a much happier note, I am thrilled you are sending your stuff into Omaha. I would be happy to talk to you more and my experience is also detailed on my blog.
