Happy New Year Everyone! I was going to write a reflection on 2011 but sometimes I think it's best not to dwell too much on the negatives, right? It was an okay year. I did finish my master's degree and I did get a teaching job...but with all the stress that came from those less than desirable jobs...I guess it was a really difficult year. I just have to find ways to combat anxiety and not letting stress get the better of me. I was walking around with anxiety clouded glasses. I am going to focus on making 2012 better and Lord Willing...I'll be able to land a better teaching job. I don't know if I'll find the perfect job but I'd like one with more support and one where I can relate to the other teachers. As of now, my advisor is saying I'll be in a better school next year...so here's to hoping she can follow through on those words!
I happen to read TCIE's blog about the patron saint for 2012. I went to the link (you'll have to go to her sight for this link...sorry)...and my patron saint for this year is Saint Anne Line. She is the patron saint of childless people (and converts, and widows). Go Figure! She sounds perfect for me so I will try to remember to pray to her for intercessions when I'm struggling with being childless. I never knew there was such a saint out there. Lord willing, I won't be a widow anytime soon. Eeek.
Also, my 81 year old mother fell the other day. Yep..and I can't praise God enough that she is okay. She sprained her ankle and ended up with some bruises but she's okay. Yesterday, she was walking around fine..no limp. Her knee is bruised so she's been careful with that. I hope this is a wake up call for her and my dad. They need to be careful ALWAYS! She has fallen before and has broken bones. She got lucky this time...Thank God!
Our kittens are so adorable and I just love them so much. I'm going to have kitten and husband withdrawal when I have to head back to work in a few days. I'm rested and ready (I think). I hope the remainder of the year goes better than the beginning did. Eeesh. I've been enjoying the Christmas break so much! I'm thankful for my family, husband, kittens and friends. God Bless.
Sounds like you got a great patron saint for 2012!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Ooh, I had completely forgotten about the patron saints. Gotta get me one of those. Happy new year!
ReplyDeleteSo glad your Mom's fall was not too severe and that she is doing better! I hope 2012 is a great year for you!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas from your prayer buddy! :) Would love to see a picture of the kittens soon. Hope St. Anne intercedes for you in a special way in 2012.
ReplyDeleteI hope St. Anne intercedes too. Thank you for praying for me and yes...I will post pics of the kittens soon. They keep me smiling (especially since my dh bought them little kitty toys that look like pacifiers when they carry them around..now if I could snap a pic of that...hmmmmm).
