Special guests and a blessing

Today (since my dh and I were both off for Presi.dent's Day) we had my parents and our two parish priests over for lunch . It was amazing. My casserole couldn't have turned out better....and it really was a nice meal. They asked to come back! Maybe in the summer when we can BBQ!

The priests also blessed our house and our cat! Bubby wasn't too sure what to think when he got sprinkled with the holy water...we had to laugh at the look on his face. It feels good to have our house blessed and to have been able to share a meal (that I prepared) with two special and holy men..and of course, my parents. The Lord is Good and I'm so thankful I'm Catholic! Amen?

Teaching is going well. I'm not sure I'll have a job next fall at this school. I can't teach fifth grade with my certification...I'm only doing it now since it's an end of year only position. The principal is hoping someone from a younger grade will switch but as of right now no one is stepping up. I need to know soon so I can start looking for the fall. I want something long term...I need to be with my younger children. The Lord is good and He will provide. The fifth grade is okay...it's just not my passion. I just had parent and teacher conferences and it went well (but I stressed immensly over them). I'm really learning a lot. As the priest said today "The Lord has you there for a reason." Tis true...I'm there for Him.

Not much else going on. hmmmm...My dh is keeping busy and so am I. I'm still looking for that balance. I just can't find time to exercise or do anything much that I enjoy. It's disheartening. I want to be a good teacher and still be able to maintain some free time to do the other things in life I enjoy. My dh and I went out to dinner with the Knights last Tues and doing that put me so far behind in my grading etc...I regret going. I'm not liking that. I need to find a way to do both. hmmmm....it takes time. Teaching requires a lot of sacrificing especially as a new teacher.

God bless.

  1. AMEN! I love it when the priest comes over to visit, but when I cook for him...I realize how much of a Martha I really am! So glad today turned out to be a good one for you!

  4. It's so wonderful to have people you love in your home. And to cook something as delicious as you did- that's the cherry on top of the sundae!

I hope you find that balance you are looking for!
