What to blog about.

I guess I'll just start by letting you know that all is going really well with student teaching. I couldn't be happier. On Mon the little ones start school...their very first day...for many years to come. Some will be excited, some will be scared, some won't know what to think. I've met most of the little ones and their families. Some are living a life I've never lived, some I hope will come to school clean...some I hope don't bring "friends" with them to school. The home visit experience was eye opening and I have never appreciated my life more than I have in the last few weeks. Did I mention that I'm working with "inn.er cit.y" children? God placed me here for a reason. God is good! I will do His work.

I guess with that all being said...I don't know what to blog about. I don't have that many readers anymore...I guess most of the blog world doesn't want to hear about my new found love of teaching. I guess it makes sense for this is an IF blog...not one about teaching. I do want to thank those of you who do read my blog and comment (and have been praying for me). It's nice to know my words and thoughts are meaningful and interesting to someone. I'd quit altogether if no one ever commented, wouldn't you? God bless those of you who have become my blog friends! You have helped me tremendously!

In honesty, I really wanted to show the IF world that there is another kind of life one can live after IF. Most of you move on from IF when you have a baby...but there is another way. I'm living proof. I don't have children and I AM HAPPY! I have purpose! It can happen. I'm not going to live the rest of my life pining after something I can't have . No, that's not me. God gave me another direction and I've taken it. I'm good...my dh is good...all is well. I dare not ask for more.

So...what to blog about????? hmmmm....I guess IF something happens that is IF or baby related...I'll write a quick post.....but until then....I'm still going to read and comment when I can. Just because I don't have anything of interest going on doesn't mean you don't. Very exciting things still happening in the blog world! Praise God!

If your curious...my dh and I will re-evaluate our adoption plans when I'm done. We've been throwing a few things around in our discussions but not really "feeling" anything right now. We'll get back to that in Dec...until then...Sing with me "Heads and Shoulders, knees and toes..knees and toes..." :) I'm going to teach my students that song next week...I've been humming it all week...LOL!

  1. Yours was one of the very first IF blogs I started to read. I always love whatever you have to say. I think that teaching children (esp. inner city kids) is the most admirable thing in the world. In my own family, I marvel at how much our beloved Kindergarten teacher has shaped my children's lives. I can only imagine what effect you will have on those children who are BLESSED to have you as their teacher!!! Please keep writing!!

  2. I'm still reading! And, I've been feeling the same way. I've moved past IF and on to adoption and I am so excited! There is still a tinge of sadness with each new PG announcement but it passes when I think about my future. I am happy, too.

I hope your student teaching goes well! I'm excited for you:)

  4. I'm so excited that you're loving student teaching!!! YOu're making me all nostalgic! I did my s.t. in an inner-city school, too. It was challenging. REALLY challenging. I did 1st grade- what grade are you doing? I forget. Sorry if you've told us that before!

I'm thankful that you explained your purpose in blogging about teaching. Way to go, girl! There certainly is LIFE after IF or whatever cross one is carrying. I think your new vocation is a beautiful one that you will love!

    Blessings!

  5. I loved this post for the very fact that you are an inspiration that life after IF (or in the midst of IF - I guess it may never leave some of us), can still be happy and that is what God wants, us to live a life full of joy and love! And you have so much love to pour out on those kiddos - what a wonderful thing!

As far as stuff to blog about, I did tag you in a meme over at my blog. If you want to participate great, if not, no worries. I liked the meme because it totally doesn't have to have anything to do with infertility - if you don't want it to. Okay, I am off to my 1st horseback riding lesson in a little bit, I will tell you how it goes! Pray for me! :)

  6. I love this post. I really do. For a couple of years now I have been searching for couples just like you and your DH, who have NOT become parents and yet who still have found joy. Little did I know I, too, would be on my way down that path, and I am thrilled to say that your inspiration was definately a big part of getting me there.

And please don't be offended when I put myself in your category. I do still fully embrace the belief that I will be a mother someday, somehow. Most likely through fostering, in a couple of years. But just knowing that IF it doesn't happen, life can still go on, is so meaningful to me. You really are a hero :)

I would love to hear your updates about the little kiddies! I do miss teaching, and I bet you'll have some FUNNY stories to share along the way, so please do!

I was thinking about posting about the 10 surprising things....hmmmm....having a hard time with that one.

I guess you could say I'm experiencign "bloggers block". :)

  8. HEY. You do have blog readers - you have ME. I prefer when people are able to blog about their current passion (at least yours isn't shopping!) rather than blogging about babies (I mean, that has its value, but for me as a reader, only to a limited degree) or about our inability to have passion about anything but the lack of them. I think that latter expression is what blogging is for - but the hope is that we survive that and heal and transcend it, and you are an embodiment of that hope. Don't leave us!
