That about sums up what I found out when I finally made an appt to see a chiro.practor about the pain in my lower back. Dr "G". did x-rays and informed me that I do have a mild curvature in my spine, I do have a pinched nerve, a bone spur and some degenerative bone loss (or something like that) in my neck and the problems with my knees are due to my flat feet (yeah). I have one shoulder higher than the other and I tilt my head...so I'm lopsided? hehehehe...really...I'm not too concerned about any of this...and if he can help my knee pain (with custom ortho.dics) and help alleviate my lower back pain (which sitting in the car going to class and sitting in 4-5 hours of lecture did not help)....I'm good with that. The one thing I'm kind of excited about is that he is really into holisti.c type of therapies...so he's going to help me balance out my hormones. Anything to make my cycles better! He's mentioned Fe.m Pre-.m? Have any of you heard of it? I've already had a few adjustments and I felt a little sore and I do have a little headache...which Dr. G said is normal. So.....this is a new adventure to helping me feel better. Lord willing! (This dr seems to think these treatments can help fertility..any thoughts on that? Anything to help, huh?) THis dr is also a good Catholic man...my dh sees him as well.
I really want to aim at being healthier as I turn 40. I want to be a healthy teacher so I can better serve the Lord by helping His children. Amen.
Well...on a dismaying note...my kitty has some problems. I don't know if I mentioned that we found out he has I.B.S. (irritabl.e bow.el...yes, cats get this). He's been throwing up..which is just lovely for our carpeted house! So, a few months ago he got a steriod shot and he improved...and we tried pills (which is interesting to give to a cat). After a few months..the vomiting came back but worse...I had to have him examined again and it's been determined that he'll need the steroid shots...most likely for the rest of his life....and these can cause diabet.es in cats which I don't know if I can handle what that could entail. *sigh* He really is our "son". He follows me everywhere...is at the door happy to see me when I get home. Loves to play...he's so friendly to our guests and I know he just loves us too. I just hope this doesn't get worse...he's my dh's first pet and my dh adores this cat. I'm not going to let him suffer either. He's okay for now. I guess we just need to live our lives and do our best to keep him healthy for as long as possible.
Enjoy your weekend! We are going to a local ballgame t-nite and then I'm studying this weekend. I saved my hardest class for last. Interesting but very intense and TONS of work. But hey...in three more freaking weeks...I'm done with classes!!! Woo hoo! Praise our Good Lord Jesus Christ!!!!! God is so good! :)
I started doing chiro back last summer ( 6 months before I finally had my surgery) and it did WONDERS for the back/pelvic pain I had along with some wicked menstrual cramps/aches during menstruation. My hips were misaglined from carrying Maggie on the same hip for 3 years and I had aa vertebrae that was fused- this vertebrae directly impacted the nerves that dealt with fertility and the endocrine system.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I think chiro is great and worth the investment of time and money. I hope you get lots of benefit from it!
Wow, that's a lot of back diagnoses! Glad he's going to be able to treat them. And help with IF into the bargain - awesome!
ReplyDeleteOne of our cats has long had an upset stomach too - no diagnosis, but she vomited daily if she got any food other than what she was supposed to get (even if she ate part of a plant or whatever). When she finally moved from my parents' chaotic house to my sister's place, the problem basically stopped, because my sister was able to regulate her food intake enough that she stopped getting sick. I don't know if this would help your cat, but this kitty is about 15 now and going strong, so I am sure your cat will be able to stick around for a while too!
Misfit: Thanks for your comments..we do regulate his food...we never fill his dish...just a little at a time. The only thing that stops his vomitting is the shots.
ReplyDeletePraying for you... so glad you are almost finished with classes!
ReplyDeleteOh, I am sorry to hear about your kitty! I know the attachments that I have to our cat (and he is just turning 2). I hope that the Vet figures out what the best treatment will be and that kitty will live many more years.
ReplyDeleteOh and when I saw you in person I most certainly did NOT think you were lopsided! :) Have a great rest of the weekend and Happy Birthday WEEK!
I'm so glad you have such a great doctor! I hope his methods work for you :)
ReplyDeleteSorry about your kitty, we had problems with our doggy, he got pretty sick and it was such a hard decision to make, is he going to get better, can we afford the medication, is he going to suffer for the rest of his life, ? and many other questions.. He was our kid. I hope your vet can help your kitty.
Sorry to hear about your kitty. I'm glad the chiro thinks that he can help your back and you get a bonus of some IF treatment. Awesome that you are almost done with class.
ReplyDeleteYay for almost being done with class, and for getting help for your back! Sorry about kitty. :( I will pray.
