Kind of a bummer day

It's not helping my mood that today is cold and rainy out. I'm sure if it was sunny I'd be walking outside trying to put my thoughts together. First, I had my u/s this morning and it was okay. I have one large follie so I did the trigger shot. I felt selfish for I wanted more than one! I've been having hot flashes...I wanted the meds and side effects to be worth it. I'm sure I O one follie a month anyways. So the news wasn't all that exciting to me.

The nurse informed me that my uter.ine lining was thin...which is a common side effect of Clo.mid...so she suggested going back to the injectibl.es again next cycle. Ugh! I knew something was not right for I haven't had any of the CM that I usually have every cycle (oh I've been bearing down and all). I'm taking B6....put it doesn't look like that helped. So...my dh and I talked and we are going to be done with meds for awhile . I just can't handle the side effects of the meds, taking 2 night grad classes and trying to work to earn some money (since I've had the whole summer off...I'd like to get back to work). It just seems like the meds are not helping my fertility. I don't think I'd have to be a genius to figure that out!!!! Lack of uterine lining is not good....and with the injectible.s I got cysts! Neither sound healthy...so my dh and I think we need to pray, rethink and just try on our own. My dh pointed out (and so has my mom and friend) that the dr fixed a lot during my surg last May and we never gave it a chance to see if we could TTC w/o meds. I'm going to be doing the progester.one suppositor.ies this cycle...so that should help build my lining back up...I hope and pray. I don't know.

To add insult to injury...my dh told me when I got home that some wheel ball bearing had to be fixed on our min.i-van...and after we brought it in...the mechanic suggested new rear brakes! This was not good news at all since last week...our hot water heater leaked on our basement floor and we had to have the water heater replaced. Gosh....seems like it's been one expense after another. This summer has been the summer of spending and it all began with my surg last May. We had some other expensive things fixed too and our cat's ER visit and various vet visits hasn't helped. Cha-ching!

Now for good news...so hey..I have one mature follie! I guess that is better than none. We'll go with it. I'm so thankful my dh has a job so we've been able to pay for all of this stuff going on and the meds (which we know are not cheap). We've been healthy...my parents are doing well...I need to appreciate my days with them more (their older). Also..our cat has not thrown up in over a week and is quite the character...he has been sitting next to the computer on my desk rolling around...looking for my attention (laying on his back, all four paws in the air)....and he rolled around so much he fell off of my desk!!! I caught him before he hit the ground...and that was the first time I've laughed all day. Leave it to my kitty to put a smile on my face! He seems to know when I could use some cheering up! :) Wait until we get our dog...oh yes..if no children are in our future...a little doggy certainly is! So far, dh is on board with that.

Oh...another cute cat story... I found out yesterday my cat is a revengeful kitty...I scared him accidentally while he was in his potty last night.(he walked out all puffy tailed and mad)...and before I went to bed I was looking for him and when I went to turn on a light in my office (could be a potential nursery)...he jumped out at me and gave me a good scare. Okay...we're even. Many blessings to you all.

  1. Yea on the mature follicle! This could be the month.

If this isn’t a successful cycle, I understand the wanting to try it on your own after the surgery especially since you ovulate normally on your own and the clomid isn’t helping or improving the chances – and giving you hot flashes to boot. You won’t regret just trying for a few months, if not more, unmedicated (if it even takes that long). If you absolutely have to come back to injections later, maybe your RE could reduce the amount or change the type. Maybe letrozole instead of clomid (supposedly has no side effects like clomid). On injections, I know follistem is easier to control amounts compared to bravelle (it can be administered in 10 IU increments; whereas the bravelle comes in 75 IU increments). There’s probably more out there I just don’t know about yet. Just some ideas if you unfortunately find yourself down this road again.

That’s terrible about the car on top of the water heater (we just replaced ours, too) & other expenses. Unexpected expenses always come in threes in my household. We’ve got to take mine in before we make a long drive soon and I’m dreading it.

Pets are the best & always seem to make your day better. I told Dh we could get a cat or a dog from the humane society if/when we move. He's probably looking as forward to that as having a baby (well, almost!).

  2. all you need is one mature follicle!!

so they want you back on injectibles? i'm all for breaks, but have you asked about femara? my dr had me on that for 6 mos before adding injectibles and said he liked it better than clomid b/c you didn't have the lining thinning issues... might be worth asking about

i'm so thinking i want a dog... neither me or my husband has ever had a pet in our lives, so we probably would not really know what we are doing. he's not to keen on it yet so we'll see....

  3. I did ask about the femara and the nurse said I could have the same issues and the dr told me he's seen more success with the Clo.mid. Go figure! So....with that...I'm thinking a break is needed for now. It's just disappointing that these fertili.ty meds just seemed to make me infertile? Haaa...my dh really wants to go "oh naturale" for a bit. It sounds good for now especially since I'm taking 2 classes this fall!!! I really do need to stay focused. God bless.
