Those were my dr's last words at my pre-op appt and guess what? I got a period last night. Haaa!!! I think my ladyparts are confused. THe dr did say that a period could start early or I may not get one, etc...not to panic...body needs to heal. He informed me that the surgery was around ovulation so that would effect my cycle. It did. I wasn't expecting a period for two weeks or so. It's not heavy or anything so I'm not worried. Most of all, I barely felt cramping. My boobs hurts yesterday...they actually felt full...so when the cycle started...I was surprised but not too much. So, my question is...how do I chart this cycle? Do I just jot this down and chart later to see where it goes? Hmmm....I know the surgery would mess me up but now I'm not sure about the charts. Any help would be great.
Other than that, everything is healing fine. My incisions look good (my mom who is a retired nurse took a look and was surprised at how well they were healing and she helped me clean them up, etc). My mom did notice a reaction around the band aids so now I'm thinking I may have a latex allergy. Thank GOd I had latex free band aids in the cabinet. SO, now I'm using them. I took a shower today which felt good too.
Most importantly, my dh has been absolutely wonderful and so caring. I just fell in love with him so much more which is good because Monday is our 7th year wedding anniversary! I feel so blessed. He's really stepped up to the plate...doing all the housework, taking care of the cat and whatever else needs to be done. I truly feel taken care of and was happy to see him sitting in the chair next to me when I woke up from the surgery. We are going to celebrate our anniversary next weekend since this weekend, my appetite isn't that good. I still haven't felt hungry but I'm eating. I don't mind...I need to be more careful anyway.
Thanks again for the prayers. Any suggestions on charting would be great. Blessings to you all.
Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteI did not want to eat for a few days. I ate just the bare minimum in beginning. Believe me though, your appetite will return:)
I think when I was starting my period after surgery, I started a new line and just charted everying the same.
I would continue charting across the same line. I asked my Dr. this same question when I started bleeding after surgery, and it turned out it wasn't a period (in my case), and I did have a regular period again 2 weeks after the bleeding. (Some of the bleeding was even "heavy," so it did resemble AF.)
ReplyDeleteBut, since you were around ovulation for the surgery, I wouldn't expect you to have a true AF so soon - - more than likely it's bleeding associated with healing.
But, if you continue charting across the same line, if it does turn out you find out it IS a period (though I'm not sure how you'd be able to find out for sure), you can always move it down to the next line.
I'm glad you're healing nicely!!
Happy Anniversary!! Hope you have a great day and a fun time celebrating next weekend!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you are doing okay.
