I can't honestly say that the last two months have flown by...for some days have just been...long. But I can say little "T" is still doing well...developing and thriving. We had her 2 month check last week and she weighs about 13 lbs and is now 24 inches long. The dr was very happy with her continued progress. She also got THOSE shots...ouch. She was not a happy camper after that visit. She was miserable and we planned the dr visit on a day I had to work...so my poor hubby had to hold her and try to comfort her as best as he could. Thankfully she fell asleep and when she woke up she was doing better. She isn't on a schedule but she was not herself. My friend told me to give her a dose of baby Tylenlol before the shots...did any of you do that with your own babies?
Besides smiling and cooing....our little one is now giggling. I think that is the sweetest sound in the world. It's funny but she giggles at ceiling fans! I don't know why she finds them funny but she does and she just laughs out loud. We have literally planted a bouncy seat under a ceiling fan and she likes that. She also likes to look outside. She can see more in the distance so that little girl is ready to see the world! She makes lots of sounds and is doing well. We have been dealing with some major fussiness...but from what my friends say...it's normal. She will cry and not be consolable...sometimes a little formula will help...or a walk...or if we are desperate...a ride in the car (we really do this as a very last resort!).
And the great news is that little "T" was baptized last weekend! It was a blessed event for her. Our favorite priest did the ceremony and he did a little exorcism in it too. I wasn't expecting that but know all too well...evil is real. Little "T" did great and ended up falling asleep. OUr family and friends really enjoyed meeting her...and she was in her glory being held all day and just loved on.
So all in all....my dh, "T" and I are doing well. If you could pray for my FIL I would appreciate it. Three weeks ago, he blacked out while driving and hit a tree. He survived but has broken ribs and a broken spirit. He is in rehab and is seriously depressed. Tonight he went back to the ER for some irregularities with his heart. My dh and his family have been stressed. After rehab he'll have to go to an assisted living place. We'd like to see him in independent living but at this time that doesn't seem to be the case.
Loved the update. We got our little guy at 7m so I'm no help at all. I well say that at first i felt bad using Tylenol for teething but it made such a difference and our pediatrician encouraged me to not be stingy with it if L was suffering. Welcome to the church T!
ReplyDeleteThat is good to know...because the teething "drama" will happen soon enough!
DeleteCongrats on T joining the Church!
ReplyDeleteJust here catching up, and it is GLORIOUS to do so :)
