A prayer request and an update!

I need to ask a huge prayer request.  Back in Jan my mom hurt her back.  She was in tremendous pain and couldn't walk.  After a visit to the ER and a visit to a spine specialist we found out that she does indeed have a fracture in her spine.  The recovery has been slow and so painful.  Now we have run into a new problem....the meds are making her sick.  She keeps a pail next to her kind of sick.  She is suffering so much.  My parents do live by me so I have been to their house many times and I have tried to help with cooking and cleaning. My father has been pretty amazing throughout this whole ordeal.  He really loves my mom!  My mom can do nothing but sit or lay on the couch.  I have never seen her so weak and fragile.  She has lost so much weight.  She can barely eat.  I know not eating and pain meds do not go together.  I'm having her drink those nutritional shakes and we are just having her eat whatever she can.  She's also getting depressed.

I have been trying to encourage her to not take the pain meds but she says the pain is to bad and she needs them.  I've been wanting her to call the dr for over a week now to get new pain meds.  She hasn't.

She has a follow up dr appt this Thursday.  I can not go this time for a I have a meeting I have to attend for work.  I hope it goes well and my parents are honest with the dr.  When I go to the appts with them, they tell the dr everything.  She needs help....lots of it.  She needs new pain meds.  Something that won't get her so sick.

So, I've been having some stress over here and I am completely worried about my mother.  She has always been so strong...now she is so weak.  She's older.  I get that.  It's hard not being able to control the situation.

Thank you so much for the prayers.

On the adoption front, we are still in contact with the young expectant mom...we text once a week.  She is still pretty pregnancy sick and is now looking for a new dr.  The baby is healthy but momma is tired and just having a hard time with everything.  I try to help her as much as I can.  She lives in another state so it's hard.  I have prayed a lot and truly believe God brought this young woman into our lives for prayer...she needs it, the expectant dad needs it and so does the unborn baby...so I pray.  When God asks me to pray...I pray!   I don't know how this will all end...but I at least know I kept the young couple and baby covered with prayers.  For now we are thankful and prayerful.  God is good.

For now....we take it one week at a time....oh by the way...we found out the gender of the baby today....um.....that will be for another post! hehehe :)
