I wasn't surprised that I was going to have another cycle review. My prog # was "smoken hot" this month.....28.4! I had to ask the nurse to repeat that number again. Wow! Estrodial was a little lower at 11.7...my "girls" were not so sore this month, last month Estrodial was higher and they were a burning. Hmmm...it's all too interesting how hormones play on how one feels. Since I was off work this cycle...I paid more attention to my body...and I felt discomfort. I was bloated (fave jeans were tight) and Al.eve wasn't taking away the symptom of this discomfort. I was also tired...so I brought this up to the nurse and Dr.S and of course, I need to be watching my diet (which I did not at all over Christmas holiday). I know it was my fault but for me...it's hard to give up certain things...like dairy. It's tough. I can cut back but not go cold turkey. Or coffee....this girl can't give that up...unless someone wants to comm.it me!!!!Mentally I love the smell of coffee and I think it helps me get started in the morning and I am so not a morning person. Physically, my body needs it...major headaches happen if I get to the afternoon hours without caffeine. Did I mention that when I woke up after surgery and was taken to recovery 2, I had such a bad headache the nurse made me coffee and poof...I started to feel better and come alive again? Oh yeah...coffee addicted...that's me.
So, Dr.S is going to send me info on L.DN...or low dos.e Naltro.xone (or something like that). I was told by the nurse that Napro has found this dru.g to be very helpful for couples who just can't concevie. For instance, I had a very good cycle last cycle...everything in place and my dh and I did use most good days. We were going to use the "best" day but my dh was tired and coming down with a cold. I was exhausted and stressed from work...so we just went to bed and fell asleep. Anyways, I'm curious to know more about this drug and what I can expect. I guess it has anti-inflammatory properties that could make my PMS better. I thought HCG would do that...but apparently...that drug is helping my progesterone....and not my pms. Geez...can I get a break here? The dr is going to send me some info and when I get to CD1 next month, I can let her know if I'm interested. WHat is your thoughts and experiences about that drug? Oh yeah, I'm starting Femar.a today as well. Just adding another drug to the cocktail I'm already taking. It's all good...I do it for the Lord...if it be HIS will that we conceive...I want to do everything I can to open that door for HIM. If after all of this it does not happen...when we stop trying...we know we did it in good faith and did all we could. Amen?
Besides all my girl stuff, my dh and I went to see the movie Linc.oln. My dh is more of a history buff than I and I actually liked the movie and cried (thanks to the high progesterone) at a certain part. Actually, I cried a lot befor CD1. Interesting. The movie was good. I recommend it.
Winter break is almost over and my house is pretty clean, fish bowl is clean, cats are doing better. I really can't complain. I'm going to be very busy when I get back to work. Ugh. I'm going to keep being thoughtful about keeping my stress levels down. Seriously, stress is just not my friend. Lord, help me!

I can relate with the dairy thing especially cheese. I have successfully cut it out of my diet except for small amounts of butter that I can cook with and eggs. I do not take Naltrexone but I have studied about it with regards to NaPro. It is a narcotic that is usually given to addicts, I know it sounds crazy but it really works. Drs. give it for autoimmune diseases, PMS, Fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, etc. It is suppose to help you increase and make endorphins when you are in a deep sleep. It also helps with your body increasing your estrogen and progesterone on its own. It can give you VERY vivid dreams as well as insomnia and nausea. One of our NaPro Drs. takes it for her PMS headaches and says it is the only thing that has helped her.
ReplyDeleteI take it, but not low dose, I started small and worked up to the regular (not compounded) pharmacy dose (50 mg I believe). I had trouble sleeping on it at first which I think is pretty common from what I read, but that stopped within a few weeks and I no longer notice the vivid dreams or have difficulty sleeping. I do think it helps lessen PMS symptoms, including for me, anxiety. In fact after a couple years TTC with Napro I have stopped most medication but am still taking the LDN. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I hate blogger, I just wrote a long comment!! I take LDN 8mgs, it will take you some getting used to getting up to the dose the MD's wants you on. In the beginning, I had difficulty sleeping and bad nightmares...It has helped so much w/PMS and it helped us conceive Michael...good luck!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comments, when I have bad nightmares I ususally end up screaming in my sleep which wakes up my dh. He might not be too thrilled if I do that one this med. I guess it's something to think about.
